501 Paved area
Geometry: area.
Definition
A paved area is an area with a firm surface such as asphalt, hard gravel, tiles, concrete or the like. It should be bordered (or framed) by the symbol Step or edge of paved area (501.1). Distinct differences within the paved area can be represented with the symbol Step or edge of paved area (501.1), if they serve navigation. The black border line can be omitted where it is logical (e.g. indistinct / gradual gravel-to-grass transitions).
Differences in the brown colour shall be used to show differences in the traffic of vehicles or pedestrians.
Parameters
Minimum width: 0.35 mm (inside measure).
Colour: brown 30% for light traffic of vehicles or pedestrians, 50% for heavy traffic of vehicles or pedestrians, black.
